Born in the UK, Richard moved to Asia in 1986. He has lived
and worked in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan, with projects
in a dozen countries worldwide. The last decade of his 30-year
career has focused on coaching, counselling, and training. Combined
with the two previous decades (one in professional CPA firms
helping people to resolve financial and legal difficulties;
one in business operations and finance, both as entrepreneur
and as manager), his breadth of experience provides a rich source
of practical, cross-cultural, hands-on examples. He relates
easily and supportively to a wide variety of people and situations
– children and adults, successful business leaders and
struggling students, local and Western.
In 2002, Richard earned his M.Ed with distinction. His dissertation
on loss involved pioneering research. He now coaches, counsels,
and conducts workshops for people experiencing all forms of
loss.
Richard also specialises in helping men with personal, business,
and family roles. He is a member of the Hong Kong Men’s
Group, and is writing on men’s work for a professional
journal.
Richard teaches advanced cognitive reading skills and practises
a meditative discipline of self-knowledge. He has been an active
sportsman, and written a book about hiking in Hong Kong.
